Draeger Flame Detection

Flame Detectors

Flame detectors play a crucial role in fire detection, both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon based, demonstrating highly reliable performance. Detectors are extensively utilized in industrial applications to meet increasing demands for safety measures. For providing a comprehensive solution, flame detectors are often paired in conjunction with gas detection equipment. Draeger offers a diverse selection of highly specialized flame detectors for addressing various fire potentials. In addition to the widely recognized IR, UV, and UV IR flame detectors, Draeger offers patented optical flame detection.

Visual flame detection solves many of the issues common to standard technologies:

  • there are no false alarms
  • there is no degradation in the field of vision – standard technologies have significant drop off in detection capability away from the center of the field of vision
  • with optical detection the full field of vision has full detection capability
  • video recording alarm events is an option – before and after alarm video to literally see what caused an alarm
  • no impact from rain, dust, snow, and humidity

UV-IR Flame Detection

  • Can detect hydrocarbon-based fuel and gas fires, invisible flames, and fires from hydrides, ammonia, silane and other organics

Visual Flame Detection

  • Discriminates between a genuine fire and other radiant sources that cause conventional detectors to produce unwanted false alarms
  • Visual flame detector and a closed circuit television camera (CCTV) in one
  • Safest and most advanced flame detection system available, and is proven reliable and robust, even in the harshest environment
